Tarique Mustafa

 

Founder, CEO & Chairman

Tarique is the Founder, CEO and Chairman of nexTier Networks, Inc. He is the visionary/brain behind nexTier's unique core technology (patented) and its highly differentiated Information Security product. Tarique is recognized in the industry as a leading innovator and thought leader in Information Security and Data Leak Prevention. Previously, Tarique founded Network Utilities, a Silicon Valley startup that built a wireless infrastructure and security platform. Tarique also served as the CTO of Andes Networks, architects of an SSL Security Appliance and acquired by Sun Microsystems in 2003). Most recently Tarique served as Principal Architect at Nevis Networks where he was responsible for building next generation Security Monitoring and Security Event Correlation technology for IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention) and SSL/IPSec.
 
Tarique has held key technical positions with Symantec Corporation, DHL Airways, MCI WorldCom and EDS Systems where he led engineering teams developing and running industry-leading technologies,applications and systems. Tarique has several patents pending with USPTO and has published many research publications in areas of computer & network security, software architecture and database technologies. Tarique holds master’s degrees in Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Southern California (USC). Tarique was awarded the prestigious Rotary International Scholarship for Computer Science studies from USC based on his doctoral studies in Computer Science.

John Racioppi

 

Vice President, Business Development

John brings to nexTier over 25 years of leadership experience in the security, software, and networking arenas. He has driven strategy and direction for a number of organizations, most recently serving as CEO of Enhanced Communications Delivery Systems, a SaaS company focused on multi- channel messaging as a platform service. Prior to joining ECDS, John was General Manager for Trend Micro's DLP business unit. John has extensive functional experience in strategic planning, product
assessment and planning, go-to-market strategies, and revenue improvement.

John has been a leader in a variety of successful startup organizations as well as large public corporations including Trend Micro, Borland, IBM, and AT&T in the public domain and early stage companies including Infravio, Moonlight Systems, Lutris, and DASCOM. In addition, John spent significant time in the consulting arena as part of Ernst & Young's Telecommunications and Network consulting practice. John has lead the strategy and planning activities of several global software vendors as they assessed new market opportunities.

John has extensive international experience, with particular knowledge of most major Asian markets. In addition, he has extensive experience in launching the sales and marketing activities of technology start-up organizations. John received his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.

Mark Calomeni

 

SVP Systems Engineering

As SVP of Systems Engineering for nexTier Networks, Mark is responsible for all Engineering Operations, Integration and overseeing Deployment of the company’s product and solutions.  Mark brings more than 20 years of software and business innovation experience, leading engineering teams and building market leading products.
Prior to nexTier Mark was the VP of Engineering for Accept Software, leading the transformation of their engineering team into a world-class product development organization, delivering new SaaS products and capabilities to market. Previously Mark was the VP of Engineering for Asoka USA, Anthology Solutions (SVPE), Wyse Technology and OnDemand Inc.  His experience in successfully building world class, global engineering organizations (US, India, China, Taiwan, Costa Rica) and delivering innovative world class enterprise and consumer products brings a proven track record and wealth of experience to nexTier’s Engineering organization.
Mark started his career at Hewlett Packard where he led a number of engineering teams in Systems software product development including development and release of HP’s first proprietary commercial OS (MPE) as well as their leading Unix (HP-UX) commercial OS.  Mark led the innovation and development of System Management, Performance Management, High Availability and Storage Management products for HP commercial platforms, as well.
